This week marks the anniversary of the Sandy Hook shooting, in which a gunman opened fire in an elementary school. Since then, there have been over 2,300 mass shootings in the U.S. and no federal gun violence prevention legislation. How is this possible? Part of the answer lies in the intersection between guns, religion, and nationalism.
