Meet Rev. Lauren Ahava Jacobs – Lauren is an Interfaith spiritual leader, weaving Judeo-Christian, Yogic, Buddhist Mindfulness and Earth-based practices into a multilayered fabric that welcomes the soul home.
An ordained Interfaith Minister and graduate of One Spirit Seminary, Lauren offers uplifting sermons and officiates Interfaith weddings, memorials, coming of age ceremonies & baby blessings throughout New York State.
A dedicated warrior for peace, Lauren is currently a Senior Fellow with the Interfaith Center of New York Interfaith Civic Leadership Academy (ICLA) and has publicly supported the New York Faith Leaders assembly for passage of the Fair Chance Housing Act (Faith Leaders FC4H). She is also currently spearheading the Welcome Home ICLA Asylum-seekers Initiative and the One Spirit in Action / Interfaith Prison Partnership Prison Release Bags Initiative (OSIA / IPP RBI).
A fervent love activist, Lauren co-founded the Interfaith Community Kitchen & Coat Drive at Romemu in Fall 2020 and continues to manage its Volunteer Coordinators, Fundraising & Publicity including for its Family Day initiative. Relatedly, she co-chairs the Social Action Committee where she has presented Panel Discussions on Food Justice, Children’s Rights & Welfare, and Finding Common Ground in American Democracy, and co-facilitated events on Criminal Justice Reform and Immigration Reform.
A certified teacher of Meditation, Mindfulness & Yoga for people of all ages & abilities, Lauren also leads Meditation & Mindfulness workshops and offers her course, “Mindfulness in Action: Taking the Next Right Step toward Tikkun Olam – Healing the World”. She holds Master’s Degrees from Harvard University and Bank Street College of Education.
Lauren believes in the power of Courageous Compassion and spiritual connection to expand our souls and uplift sacred community.
