Read a Star-Ledger op ed I wrote with a diverse group of leading advocates in New Jersey explaining why this matters, and why New Jersey must do better.

There is too much at stake in this pivotal moment to settle for less – to give up on the opportunity to truly repair the cracks of structural racism in New Jersey, cracks that date back to our shameful history of slavery.

What’s called for in this moment is a task force that seeks to tell the truth, that provides accountability and reconciliation, without which there can be no healing. And that then recommends policies for repair.

We know New Jersey is ready for this. Thousands of you have already written and called your legislators urging them to pass A711/S322 to establish a Reparations Task Force.

If you haven’t already, please take action here.

And remember to register for our free and virtual Gala on November 9.

Thank you, as always, for standing with us.
