The people need the Freedom to Vote Act! On October 20-23, UUs are participating in a relay from West Virginia to Washington D.C. calling on our national leaders to promote democracy and protect the freedom to vote!

Join us for this online pre-rally Pop-Up action to expand and protect voting rights across the country.

Write Your Senator – Voting Rights

Next week is the big Freedom to Vote Relay and Rally in Washington, DC.

People are coming from as far away as Massachusetts and Georgia to urge our senators to pass the Freedom to Vote Act next week.

Check to see if there is a bus or carpool leaving from your city, and RSVP to join your local group’s carpool!

Don’t see any carpools or bus stops near you? Sign up now to be a caravan or bus leader and help your community come to the relay or rally in DC next week.

Honestly, the timing couldn’t be better for our events — Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer just announced that the Freedom to Vote Act is coming up for a vote next week! But that means we need overwhelming turnout to our relay from West Virginia to DC on October 21-22, and our rally in DC on October 23, in order to convince senators to vote in favor of this critical piece of pro-voter legislation.

Ann Maxwell of the Reeb Voting Rights Project says:

“Come to the pop-up 10/21 folks can get all the info they need there. There are so many opportunities to support the effort other than doing the relay! Folks can: call senators, write senators, write an op-ed, go to Side with Love pop-up, tons of phone banks to call people in states to get them to call their senators, go to the rally on Saturday!”

If people from your area come out and show your support, we’ll have the numbers to make the Senate pay attention and finally protect our democracy from anti-voter laws across the country.

Please, help make next week’s events a big success by organizing a car caravan or bus to the DC area.

Sign up to mobilize people in your community right away.

Thanks for doing your part to protect our democracy and the freedom to vote,
