AIW Forum: Stop Voter Suppression

As President Biden said on July 13, “We’re facing the most significant test of our democracy since the Civil War”.

The AIW calls UUs to organize and activate our faith to call, write, witness, and advocate for relevant national legislation, including the For the People Act (S.1), the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act (pending), and The Washington, D.C. Admission Act (S.51). Why? S.1 sets the framework for more fair elections, the JLVRAA provides needed enforcement mechanisms, and S.51 remedies a persistent example of voter suppression and disenfranchisement.

Learn more about this AIW at a virtual event sponsored by UUSJ, UUA’s Side With Love – UU the Vote. Share and discover how you and your Congregation can make a positive difference for our democracy. This event is part of UU participation in the Faith in Democracy Forum, showing that faith-based voters are watching Congress and expecting legislators to defend an inclusive democracy.
