Welcome to the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the Palisades. Whoever you are, whatever your beliefs or cultural background, you are welcome here. Unitarian Universalists believe in a free and responsible search for meaning. We seek to learn from the wisdom within all of the world’s religions, as well as from the loving source that lives within each of us. For some, that loving source is humanity. Others place faith in a higher power. As a Welcoming Congregation, lesbian, gay, straight, bisexual, and transgendered people are all encouraged to full participation. We are an anti-racist congregation, working towards justice, through service and love.

Our Services

Sunday services are a time of inspiration, reflection, learning, and celebration. Minister, members, and guest speakers bring messages to enrich the lives of the congregation. They draw on a range of spiritual traditions and disciplines. Music is an important part of our worship, with the choir performing on many Sundays and congregational singing and instrumental music every Sunday. Rituals of community, such as the chalice lighting and offerings, affirm our core values and our commitment to the Congregation, to Unitarian Universalism, and to a world of peace and justice. Celebrate with us this Sunday!

Get to Know Us

Our services are held five minutes from the George Washington Bridge, at the Historic Lydecker House, 228 Grand Ave, in Englewood, NJ. The facility is handicapped accessible with parking available adjacent to the building. Visitors will find literature about upcoming events, information about UUCP, and visitor name tags at the Welcome Table set up in the entry hallway. We encourage all newcomers to fill in a card to be placed on the mailing list. This will enable you to get UUCP announcements and receive our weekly e-newsletter, the Weekly Reader. Please plan to stay a little longer than the service, to join us for Coffee Hour, when refreshments are served and we all get to socialize and welcome new visitors.
